translates - probably poorly - to 'the song of the po,' referring to the river that flows (i believe) through italy and originates in the alps. giltenbaum being the rather affectatious (sic) surname taken by the erstwhile Trimmel family [of tyrolean extraction] following their outright purchase of the UN world court following a particularly fortuitous and profitable stock evaluation.
the giltenbaum dynasty presided over a rather prosperous and relatively democratic portion of central and southern europe for more than 250 years, ultimately shocked into political withdrawal by a religious insurgency within their offworld environment-class stations, and dwindling fortunes following first contact with the UI entity.
